Pay Per Click Management

Building a website is easy.  Bringing people to that website is hard, and assuring your place in the annals of search engine history can be nearly impossible without the right tools. One fantastic and some may say essential tool is PPC or Pay per Click advertisement.  What is PPC and why should it be part of your advertising arsenal? Read on to learn more.

What is PPC?

Go to Google and search for something. It doesn’t really matter what.  Go ahead, we’ll wait.ppc_icon

Now, do you see those highlighted links at the top of the page right below the search bar? That is the essence of PPC advertisement. It’s a way to effectively buy visits to your website rather than obtaining those visits by luck or by other means.

PPC requires you to pay a small fee to the search engine each time one of your ads is clicked.  This can be a double edged sword, especially if your company is just starting out or has a limited advertising budget. If a click on a PPC link costs you $1 and results in a $100 sale, then you have made a massive profit.  On the other hand, if you get 100 clicks at $1 each and none of these results in a sale, then you’ve just lost $100.

Why Should I Use PPC?

Even though you do run the risk of losing money on your advertisements by using PPC, there are a fantastic number of benefits to using Pay per click advertisement.

  1. You’re assured a place on the top of page 1 for any relevant search. Making it to page 1 is the most important thing to consider when working with search engines. Most people, when they are searching for something, rarely go further than the first page of search results.
  2. You can limit your advertising budget, so you don’t overspend if you get a large number of non-conversions (clicks that don’t lead to sales).
  3. Over time, the number of non-conversions will drop, making each PPC visit more profitable.
  4. Provides better tracking than other types of advertisements, since you will be able to track the profit and loss for each click over any given period of time. ‘

Who Shouldn’t Use PPC?

PPC isn’t for everyone or every website. If your site is informative or is not designed to sell goods or services or to turn a profit, than there is no point in spending your advertising budget on PPC, because you’ll just end up losing money. PPC is designed for businesses and online retailers that are counting on a sale from every click.
